Bloom Accounting Solutions was founded in April of 2023. After obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and a Master's Degree in Teaching & Learning, I found myself unable to use either degree when my 5-day-old son was diagnosed with SCID, also known as Bubble Boy Disease. For the next two years, I lived in complete isolation, homeschooling and caring for my children. Our lives during this time consisted of chemotherapy at two months old, followed by a bone marrow transplant from his fully matched sibling. This was accompanied by a two-month hospital stay, followed by three months at the Ronald McDonald House in St. Louis. We endured 28 doses of medication per day, multiple surgeries, and limited exposure to sunlight. This was a life I never could have imagined when I watched the comedic portrayal of the disease in The Bubble Boy movie at 11 years old.

After being forced to resign from my job at Douglass Community Services in Hannibal, MO, I found myself unemployed at 31 years old with two children to support. A friend recommended that I read Rich Dad, Poor Dad written by Robert Kiyosaki and after that, my outlook on employment changed permanently. In April 2023, I made the decision to never allow anyone to have control over my income again, and thus I created Bloom Accounting Solutions.

I founded Bloom Accounting Solutions with a powerful vision in mind: to empower small business owners on their journey to taking charge of their lives. However, it has blossomed into something even more profound. As a business owned by a woman who defied societal norms due to my son's medical condition, my mission has evolved to uplift women who are lacking the support to feel confident and secure in their financial journey through a capitalist world that often overlooks the challenges of motherhood. Life is about so much more than just making money. My passion is to build a sustainable life for myself while uplifting and supporting others along the way.
